Designed by Tony Marfione and released in 2023, this model introduces Microtech’s proprietary RAM-LOK crossbar locking mechanism—bringing rapid, ambidextrous deployment and solid lockup to their folding platform. Precision-crafted and rugged by design, the MSI (Microtech Standard Issue) is a purpose-built tool for hard-use scenarios, daily carry, and collection-worthy performance.

The blade is made from Bohler M390MK stainless steel—a premium alloy known for its outstanding edge retention, corrosion resistance, and overall toughness. The modified sheepsfoot profile provides a reinforced tip and versatile cutting edge, ideal for slicing, utility work, and fine control. This version features a Cerakote finish in Faded Bazooka, which delivers a matte OD green and black camouflage look while improving resistance to wear and the elements.

The handle is injection molded from high-strength polymer, contoured for a secure grip and detailed with Microtech’s signature step-pattern texture for enhanced control in both gloved and bare hands. Stainless steel liners reinforce the frame, and the RAM-LOK system ensures fast, confident deployment with either hand. A reversible, tip-up stainless steel pocket clip supports both left- and right-hand carry.
